Cool Astoria Sign

As you travel along this great country of ours, have you noticed that most of the time, the town sign is directly reflective of the town? In other words, some towns and cities have great signs, and others are just the plain old pieces o' crap created by the local Department of Transportation dorks per state requirements? Well, Astoria had a really cool sign. I had never been to Astoria, was it a really cool town?
