Tex-Ass

On to Texas to chill with the family clan. We head down to south check out a train museum. Here, it would appear that I am trying to take a dump. However that is not the case. Nate and Hailey in a pose.Dirtbagger Girl!

Veg-Ass

We travel to Vegas to meet friends Matt, Stephanie, Tim and Kirsten for a weekend of fun. Since none of us really gamble, we'd planned to just see what interesting things we could find. We find a giant beer We find an awesome Apple Strudel
We find a giant guitarWe find Chihuly

Matt and Tim find Pink Taco, and I take a picture of them @ the discovery of pink tacos. What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas, including pink tacos.

Day 4 - Day Hike to Jebel Amlal

Trip Description: Day hike to Jebel Amlal (8,036ft.). Excellent views of the Atlas to the North and West and the Sahara to the South.

So part of the crew decides to hang @ camp, while many of us take off for a full day of hiking to the summit of Jebel Amlal. The trail was rough, rock strewn, and not really great. This is one of our guides, with Christine, and Paul in the back ground looking on. Knowing Paul, he's thinking "That lamb sure is cute, I wonder if he'd taste even better."The view however, @ the top was very nice. Here is (l to r/b to f)) Jeff, Paul, Majeed, Me, Paul, John, Guide, Christine. Not pictured: Tom the guide.

Here I am enjoying a freshly made cheese and tomato sandwich. Atlas mountains in the back ground.

Spent the rest of the day relaxing and a daily chore of doing laundry. Here we are in front of our tent site, with the nice canyon walls in the back ground.

Day 3 - Started off

Trip Description: Today we trek out of the valley and cross to the village of Tagra. Camp (4,592ft.). This is our base for the optional ascent of Jebel Amlal.
We trek along a stream bed briefly, and then head towards a plateau.
Can you believe there was enough water for a palm tree to grow here?
Hanging out, eating a local trail mix of breads, dried dates, nuts and it was really damned yummy! Christine is in the back ground.

Time to Ramble On

After getting to see some cool things, it was time to head down the road. Kuri had had quite enough of sitting in the truck and was ready to go swimming in the marshy water. Nothing like a wet dog in your truck for a 3500 mile adventure! I think I'd rather wear a cat turd around my neck on a string made of garlic!

Speaking of cat turds, Hootie Dootie didn't go this trip. Basically he's a pain in the ass to travel with. He stays home.

Us @ Fort Clatsop National Park

Did you ever think that if you changed the letters around, you could get Fort Clapsot? Clap-sot. Hmm.
